Our company has been gradually advancing initiatives toward digital transformation (DX), and we are currently achieving a certain level of success in this endeavor. We have introduced our DX promotion efforts several times. The introduction of IoT in manufacturing sites requires not only technical ingenuity but also an understanding and response to the specific operational constraints of the site. The monitoring project for the holding furnace that we undertook was a challenge realized within such constraints. Our client faced the following issues at their site: - Once stopped, the molten metal inside the furnace solidifies, requiring a significant amount of time and energy to restart. - In the event of a leak, there is a risk of fire. - They wanted to minimize the opening and closing of the holding furnace lid to reduce unnecessary power consumption.
